Each month we feature one of our customer's pets and share their story and their experience using Glandex®. If you would like your pet to be included as one of our Glandex® Pets of the Month please send your picture and testimonial to testimonials@glandex.com.

This sweetheart is "Winnie" a 3-year old Beagle, Dachshund, Jack Russell Mix and our February 2016 Glandex® Pet of the Month! Winnie was first fostered for six months and then adopted by her loving parents.  This is what Winnie's mom had to say about using Glandex® for her….

"She has had anal sac problems since we got her.  No matter how often we get them expressed, they still leak a very foul liquid.  Besides smelling it ourselves, our guest would comment on her odor which was embarrassing and made us feel bad since we knew she couldn't help it.  Per our vet's recommendation, we went to a specialist for a consultation on removing her anal glands.  After we heard the risk and read all the horror stories on-line about all the things that could go wrong, we decided to give Glandex a try since it had a money-back guarantee.  Within a few weeks, we started noticing that we weren't smelling the foul odor as often. October 2015 "Axl"

This handsome boy is Axl, a 2-year old American Bulldog and our October 2015 Glandex® Pet of the Month! This is what Axl's mom had to say about using Glandex® for him….

"On May 26 2015 my 2 ,year-old Axl American bulldog has a very bad anal glands infection with no signs , he was acting normal, eating, playing, luckily went for a regular check and the vet decided to do an anal check and found out he's anal glands was full and infected , after went to the process of expression and send him home with antibiotics (clavamox 375 mg and caralfate #15) I started to do research online all this was new for me I was looking for natural options them antibiotics. After a full day researching I found out about "Glandex" I ordered and arrives very fast, it's been a month and a week adding one tsp ones a day on his food, and checking his poop...(I can see a small liquid coming right after pooping )Yesterday July 02 2015 I took him for vaccines and told the vet to do an anal check, with my fingers crossed and full of hope.. the vet says that his anal glands was perfect!!!I was so happy!!! August 2015 "Pico"

This adorable boy is Pico, a 9 lb Chihuahua and our August 2015 Glandex® Pet of the Month! This is what Pico's mom had to say about using Glandex® for him….

Dear Glandex, 

"Our 9# rescue dog, Pico, seemed unable to empty his Anal Glands. Luckily, he never had issues like impaction or infection, but he did need help with having them emptied quite frequently (sometimes every week) which he did not enjoy! After trying many home remedies with no success, I found your product online. During the first 6 weeks of use (1/8 tsp. on his food once a day), he only needed emptied 2 times. This was quite an improvement for him! I just ordered our 3rd bottle of Glandex and realized that he hasn't needed any help at all since then! July 2015 "Token"

 

"Two great things introduce each & every morning:  a cup of coffee for me & a serving of Glandex for my boy.  He knows it as “are you ready for your pumpkin stuff” as I add a few drops of water to it, creating a paste. Token loves it with no hesitation, licking the bowl clean. Gone are the days of scooting across the ground every other hour & his tireless efforts of reaching back to lick, lick, lick.

Such a simple solution wasn’t an option for us until recently. You see, Token & I were homeless for several years in Seattle, suffering from anxiety attacks & complex PTSD. We took care of each other and he provided me with constant assurance & protection.  Over a year ago, an invitation presented itself for us to stay at a relative’s home. So we traveled to Arkansas and began the process of healing from the trauma & sleep deprivation that accompanies the crisis of homelessness.

His health, diet & well-being are the most important things to me. When he started having obvious anal gland itching/scooting, I thoroughly educated myself online. "I have a 10 1/2 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever. In Oct., he developed an anal gland abscess, and was put on an antibiotic. He continued to bleed, in spite of the medication, until a new antibiotic was prescribed and the abscess healed. It returned in Jan., and at that point, our vet suggested surgery to remove the anal gland. I was reluctant to subject an older dog to surgery unless absolutely necessary, and searched the Internet for a safe alternative. That’s when I discovered Glandex, and I’ve been adding it to our dog’s food faithfully ever since. His anal gland issues have disappeared, and he is the picture of health. Love your product!"

May 2015 "Ollie"

"Hi there!  Just wanted to send a quick note regarding my dog Ollie and his gland issue. He has been having anal gland issues for almost a year now, progressively getting worse over the course of that time. I started adding pumpkin to his food. Didn't help. Changed his food to grain-free. Didn't change. Tried another fibre. Changed his food again. No change. So, with frustration mounting I started researching like a mad woman and finally found your website. Fast forward to a month later. "Just wanted to tell you how much we love your product. My dog, Dazi, is a ten year old beagle who has had anal gland problems for the majority of her life. "Ok so this is the first review I have EVER written but I'm so impressed I just had to share! I'm a cocker spaniel lover and have had them for 30 years. As my two-year-old puppy would walk around the house I started to notice his bum hole would be open like about the diameter of a pencil . (Sorry for the graphic description but how else do you say that?) One day I got a whiff of this most God-awful smell that it actually made me gag! I've never smelled anything so horrible in my life. It was like dead fish x's ten!

I immediately took him to the vet and explained what I had been seeing and smelling. He expressed the glands and showed me how to do it every couple of months, but no matter how religiously I did it, it would only last a few days and it would be back. I bought wipes and was continually wiping him. I never saw any excretion but I sure could smell it. The final straw came when I had brand-new living room carpet installed and new furniture and he would be sitting on the carpet or couch leaving that smell behind.

"Our mini schnauzer had been suffering leakage issues since being ran over by a car. She'd have to be expressed every 2 weeks to try to manage this problem. We were at our wits end & didn't want surgery as the risks are high. Out of desperation I searched the internet for anything to try when I came across this website. I was astounded when I saw all the reviews. Everyone was raving over this product and how wonderful it was. So I thought what could it hurt & ordered a bottle. December 2014 "Beau"

This is "Beau" a beautiful Golden Retriever and our December Glandex® Pet of the Month! This is what Beau's owner had to say about using Glandex® for him...

"My dog was constantly scooting and, when examined, usually had very swollen anal glands. Normally, my golden who is groomed every five weeks would have his glands expressed as part of the grooming process. It seemed like the problem started getting more and more frequent and my dog was obviously having trouble. Granted, I am very adverse about expressing his glands myself, so in researching with a friend of mine who runs an on-line pet store, we found a product called Glandex.

This product is in powder form, that is sprinkled or mixed in your dogs food once a day. I smelled it and then let my Golden smell and he obviously said ok as he tried to lick the bottle. Within two weeks of usage, his anal glands were not swollen and the problem was solved. The powder, if mixed with a little water, makes a very tasty gravy. I am very happy with this product as it solved my Golden’s problems – as well as making his dinner tasty.”

"We LOVE Glandex!!!!! It did take 3 months for it to start working for our little bassett/border collie mix, but it is now working and she has gone from having to have her glands expressed every 2 weeks by the vet to 4 weeks! We were told by a specialist that there was nothing that could be done to help our little one because there is nothing anatomically wrong with her. "I can't thank you enough for what this product has done for my mini doxie Peach!! She would have to be expressed at the vets every two or three weeks internally because the anal sacs for her are difficult to do! Since being on your product she has not been back to the vet!!! "I would like to say just how much we love using Glandex, our sweet baby beagle Gypsy has had anal gland issues her whole life, we've tried everything, from vet visits, to learning how to express them ourselves to feeding her special foods & canned pumpkin. The best we've ever been able to do is about 2-3 weeks before she needed to be expressed again, otherwise we ended up with stinky furniture, bedding & clothes. May 2014 "Eddie & Duke"

This adorable couple is "Eddie & Duke" and our May Glandex® Pets of the Month! Eddie and Duke were both adopted form a shelter one year apart and although they look similar they are not related. Eddie is a 3 years old, mixed breed female (the smaller of the two) and Duke is 4 years old and also a mixed breed. Here is what Eddie and Duke's owner had to say about using Glandex® for both of them...

"These are my two dogs Duke and Eddie Haskel. Eddie has allergies and her (yes, Eddie is a female) anal glands were infected constantly and we were having them expressed every other day. Her doctor wanted to remove her glands. We made the appointment for surgery when I decided to search the internet to find out if there was another solution to her problem. I came across Glandex and read a few testimonials. I ordered a bottle andrescheduled her surgery for a later date. A couple weeks after she started taking Glandex we saw a huge improvement. "Columbo is an 11 yr old Basset Hound living in Staten Island, NY. For years he struggled with stomach sensitivity issues as well as loose stool. We tried many different combinations of pumpkin mixed in with his meals or different brands of dog food but nothing worked. Eventually he started to have anal gland issues to the point that we were taking him every 2 weeks to get them expressed. We finally got on our computer and looked for a product that would help resolve these issues and we found Glandex! This is "Nikki" our March Glandex® Pet of the Month! As you can see she is a very cute and adorable Maltese! Nikki is 3 years old and her anal gland problems have been a constant battle. Her owner was trying everything she could to get them under control. This is what Nikki's owner had to say about using Glandex®...


"My three year old Maltese Nikki’s anal glands had to be manually expressed every week to week and a half. As soon as she would start excessively licking her anal area I knew her glands were bothering her. I tried giving her raw canned pumpkin, apples, string beans and even tried switching her food. Nothing worked. I read about Glandex and called my vet to see if she was familiar with it. She said they just started carrying it and suggested I try it since all of the ingredients are natural.

Nikki has been on Glandex for almost six weeks now and I am amazed at the improvement. Her glands needed to be expressed once in six weeks and the expression was not as much or as thick as it used to be. I am so happy that my fluff ball does not need weekly anal gland expressions anymore.

"My little man Chuck loves Glandex! Poor Chuck had to go to the vet EVERY TWO WEEKS due to anal gland issues. I tried powder fiber, raw pumpkin in a can and even FiberOne cereal. Nothing helped! January 2014 "Harley D"

This is "Harley D" an adorable 12.5 year old Cocker Spaniel and a Glandex® success story! Harley has been battling anal gland and digestive problems for quite some time before starting Glandex. This is what Harley's owner had to say about her experience using Glandex® for her dog…

"Symptoms: sensitive digestion issues, throwing up partially digested food 1-2x per week, and loose "soft serve ice cream" type stool with occasional bouts of mucous diarrhea with blood. Severe issues with anal glands - visiting the vet every 3-4 weeks, to the point of having to visit the vet for expression WEEKLY for several weeks. It was the anal gland issue that finally caught the vet's attention. My dog was in so much discomfort from the frequent expression and gland issue, he couldn't/wouldn't jump up on my bed or couch, run up/down the stairs, and balked at walks.

Diagnosis was his anal glands weren't expressing naturally. The left anal gland was able to be expressed, the right side seemed to have the duct closed off with no expression able to be done on that side. able to be normally (naturally) expressed and with inflammation & impaction problems compounded by frequent expression the strong recommendation by my vet & emergency care vet was to surgically remove the glands….to the tune of $3,000. My only other "prescribed" option was to let things run their course and "hope" the glands ruptured outward and deal with things then.

I was desperate. I researched other remedies to avoid putting my aged pet through anesthesia & surgery at his age, not to mention not having that kind of cash to drop on his surgery. I discovered firm stools are necessary for normal, natural gland expression - something the vet never brought up or offered recommendations to treat. I discovered the Glandex product and within 2 days of administering the lowest dose, found my pup to have firmer stools. He still had softer movements, and occasional vomiting. After one week, I switched from ONE dog food to Vita Pro, grain-free turkey w/vegetables. After about 3 weeks, I increased the Glandex dosage to 1/2 tsp twice a day. The combination of Glandex and switching food (and more frequent exercise) has made all the difference in the world.

After 3 months, my dog has mostly normal bowel movements, no longer scoots along the carpet, and rarely vomits. I'm still guardedly optimistic, because that right anal gland is still not able to be expressed & the vet says something "hard" is there. However, the left side is expressing well on it's own and after 2-1/2 years of vet visits every 3-4 weeks to weekly, we've been told not to come in unless my dog shows signs of scooting, etc.

My dog loves the taste of this powder and new food…licks his bowl clean every time. I would urge people try this for their pet FIRST before succumbing to expensive, and potentially unnecessary surgery (and it's complications). While the product made an immediate difference, it still took a couple of months for the full effect of the Glandex along with diet to make the positive changes "stick" for my pet. I truly have my old buddy back - complete with snuggling on the couch, following me at a trot up the stairs, and enjoying walks again.
